Not your typical UGG's

When hearing the word UGG, most of us automatically think of the warm suede and fur lined lovelies that keeps our toesies nice and warm throughout the winter. Well, they have stepped up their game and are now designing some other comfy, yet super stylish boots and shoes. Back in September, I had the fabulous opportunity to visit their NYC showroom during fashion week. I fell IN LOVE with so many of their new styles, that I couldn't dare decide which ones I liked best. From leopard booties, to over the knee wedges, UGG's are now on my radar for good quality, fashion forward, must have boots. Just this week I picked up a pair and cannot wait to wear them! They are perfect for everyday and will keep my feet nice and warm but still looking fabulous when the cold weather comes our way. Here are a few of my favorite styles. Seriously, you have to go check out their newest styles! I promise there is a style for everyone. Trust!!!

So these are the new babies I picked up this week, eek!!!
I love the versatility of these boots, and the lower, more casual heel. Give me some skinny jeans and a chunky sweater and I am good to go!

I have been on the hunt for a good black wedge boot, and I think I have found my match! These babies are definitely on the purchase list.

I LOVE that clogs are still around. These are super cute and comfy as well! These will never go out of style, so if you are looking for a new pair of shoes to go with just about everything, you have to have these!

These are a perfect option if you are looking for a good pair of flat boots. I have starting going for shoes that are more practical and comfy for everyday given the fact that I walk everywhere. Don't get me wrong, I still buy my heels, I just wear them out in the evenings or put them on when I get to work.

In the Navy

I have come to the conclusion that I am drawn to all things Blue hued. . Cobalt, Teal, Turquoise, Lapis, and now Navy. Over the weekend, while perusing websites on my new pretty little iPad, I couldn't help but realize that alot of what I was picking out was Navy. To me it's just so clean and classic. PLUS, it goes with everything, so you get more for your money! (hey, I do try to buy smart most of the time) Check out some of these fabulous must-haves in Navy.

Prada vs. Celine

Back to work for me! I had such a great weekend with my family. We literally had one of the best Christmas' to date! Seriously, everyone got along and all 25+ of us were under one roof for most of the weekend! Who would have thought!! I have already unpacked, put everything away, sent out my laundry, cleaned my apartment and am now ready for the New Year!! I hope everyone had as good of weekend as I did.

Now, to the point of this post. I have a bit of a predicament on my hands, lovelies. In all fairness, it's really trivial (ok, obnoxiously trivial) in the grand scheme of life, but never-the-less, it's still a decision I want to make. I have been looking for an everyday bag to add to my "investment" collection, and I have narrowed it down to the two following options. I want a bag I can use for everyday, that's functional, and will last for years to come. Both brands are known for durability and classic pieces you will have forever. Which makes it even harder to decide.

I am torn between the Prada Saffiano Lux tote and the Celine Luggage Tote. Both are gorgeous, and practical and will hold up to my everyday wear and tear, which is why they are the front runners. I am tired of buying bags that only last me a few seasons and then are destroyed. To me,  it's just wasting money. Now, I just need to decide on one. So if you all have any advice or suggestions as to which one is better than the other, I would love to hear. Because right now, I cannot decide between the two. HELP!!!

Love, your super materialistic(only for the moment) fashionista friend!

Aren't they both fabulous??? I just need to figure out my best option and then head to Bergdorf's to pick her up!

Travel In Style

So this evening I am heading off to Kentucky to spend Christmas with my Mom's side of the family. We haven't spent Christmas with them since I was a sophomore in High School (only a few years ago :)) I am really looking forward to spending the weekend with everyone. They only thing that would make it better would be if my sister, brother-in-law and nephew were joining us as well.  Living in NYC, I have had to come to terms with having to fly to see basically anyone. I am not in close proximity to most family or friends. So I have had to step up my travel attire. It never fails that I am ALWAYS freezing on an airplane, ALWAYS! Especially this time of year, when the temperature is usually frigid! If you are going to travel, you might as well travel comfortably, right? So here's a great outfit option to wear while hopping through airports this holiday.

DKNY Cozy
This is amazing!! You can wear it 25 different ways, plus its great for travel. You can even wear this as a scarf! This is what keeps me nice and warm at 30,000 feet.

J Brand Skinny Jeans
I usually either travel in comfy jeans or leggings. And I always do a skinny leg style.

Since I am using my Cozy as a scarf and blanket, I chose to wear a chunky sweater.

Wool and I just don't get along. For some reason, the minute I put on any sweater I start itching like crazy. So wearing cami's under all my sweaters is a must. It's also another layer to keep me warm.

Flat boots are essential in the winter and even better for travel. You are walking a lot, so you want to make a sure you are comfortable. And god forbid you have to run to make your connecting flight, flat shoes will be your lifesaver!

I usually carry my biggest bag with me when traveling. It doubles as a carry on and as my purse. Currently this lovely is the bag de jour.

It's good to give and receive. . even from yourself!

So with all the Holiday shopping I have been doing lately, it's been hard not to pick up a few things for myself. With all the sales and great deals going on, I seriously couldn't help myself!! I have been pretty good about not going overboard (I am saving up for another fabulous handbag, of course). Here are some of the things I have bought for yours truly. Sorry loved ones, you won't get any hints on your presents on here. You will just have to wait a few more days to see what is under the tree for you. xo

THIS was my most favorite buy of the weekend! It's the DKNY Cape Blouse with allover sequins. It's so MAJOR, I seriously act like Rachel Zoe anytime I talk about it or admire it in my closet. I will probably wear this beauty for New Year's Eve with black pants and my new booties (see below). It's seriously so beyond, I can't even stand it!!!

I have been in need of a new pair of leather booties and just haven't found a pair that I have really DIED over. That was until I came across these BCBGeneration Laddies Booties at Lord & Taylor a few weeks ago. They didn't have my size, so I seriously had just given up on leather booties all together. Well, this weekend while looking for a presents for others, I jumped on their website and found them!!! In my size and on sale (note: for some reason they are now back to $119, I scored them for $90 this past weekend) Super happy with them and cannot wait to wear them!

If you watch the Today Show, you know they have a segment once a week called Jill's Steals and Deals. I happened to record last weeks episode and was watching it this past weekend. One of the "steals" was a Bliss Bath Products Package. It was filled with their Blood Orange + White Pepper scented products. Retail was $95, and is now $24! Yes, you read that right! It is still going on, so if you are in need of new bath products, I would jump on this now!

I have a problem with buying jeans. It would seem that I never have enough, and am always on the look out for another pair. The past few months I have been looking for a dark wash, skinny, ankle length pair, and have literally looked everywhere I could think of. That was until I was walking around Union Square Sunday, stumbled into Nordstrom Rack. Now, most of you that know me, know I hate to rummage or search to find clothes. I usually have my mom and sister with me to help me with that. I just get overwhelmed and honestly bored! And this trip I just walked around the parameter and looked at what was on the tables. Luckily for me, there were several J Brand styles on one of those tables and I ended up finding exactly what I was looking for.

One of my most favorite purchases this week, Kendra Scott Danielle Earrings in Blue Agate. They will be here Thursday, just in time for Christmas. And you can bet I will be wearing these all weekend!

I told you all I had a lot of luck this weekend with my purchases for me and for others!! This usually never happens! I found a few other sussies, but these were the ones I was most excited about. So if you see me today, you can bet I will be wearing my new booties with my new jeans and smelling of orange and white pepper! Have a great wednesday, Lovelies. Only 4 more days until Christmas!!!

Python

We all know my love affair for Leopard is walking the ever so tight line of obsessive, so I thought I would add a different print to my wardrobe, Python. I have seen a lot of this print lately, and think it will be a good addition to my print obsession. Here are a few favorites.

Lust List: Michael Kors

Michael Kors, hands down is one of the most iconic American Fashion Designers. When I think of classic american design, Kors is always at the top of my list. He is always on point with what's hot and current, but without going overboard. He somehow manages to intertwine classic with trends, and does it in the most subtle and classy way possible. I am a HUGE Michael Kors fan! Here are a few of my favorite things. Have a fabulous weekend. xo

Alejandro Ingelmo: Recycling car parts for the "Luna Shoe"

DIY and reusing everyday items or scraps from leftovers has become somewhat of a culture norm these days. Everyone is trying to find ways to reuse what they already have. So isn't it fitting that designers get in on the trend too? Lexus challenged four designers to create fashionable works of art using parts of the Lexus CT 200h. (a 90% recyclable car) The collection will appear in the January Issue of Vogue Magazine, while will be on newsstands December 15th.

In celebration of this new collection, Vogue is hosting a series of videos that take you behind the scenes of the Lexus Fashion Workshop Challenge. The feature video for this week is about Alejandro Ingelmo, and his creation of a fabulous pair of wedges. You all might remember him from this fashion week post. He is a fab-u-lous shoe designer, and one of my absolute favorites! Using armrest leather trim, rubber from the tires, and clear plastic tubing, Ingelmo created the "Luna Shoe"

You can find the videos and photos of the collection here:Vogue.com/Promotions/Lexus

Arrojo Salon

A couple of weeks ago, thanks to Socialyte.co, I had the opportunity to go check out Arrojo Salon here in NYC. I have been on the lookout for a great salon here, so I was really excited when I was extended the opportunity to try out Arrojo. The staff was extremely friendly, and made sure I left there with exactly what I wanted. I have been wanting to lighten my hair up a little bit, and decided that I would give it a shot with the fabulous stylists at Arrojo. They didn't disappoint. I still have a little more work to do before it is the color I want, but we lightened up the ends and got rid of a lot of the really dark brown hue. With my ghostly complexion, having such dark hair made me look harsh and even more pale than I already am. I am looking forward to my next visit. If you are ever in NYC and need a place to get pampered, Arrojo is a great place to start.
