Pinspiration: Color

I have started gravitating towards color lately. And I think it's because of the weather and the gloomy days we have been having. I am already looking forward to spring, and winter really hasn't hit yet. Here are some of my favorite pics from pinterest lately. I am still a huge fan of color blocking, and these picks have me itching to wear brighter clothes.

Golden Globes Fashion Recap

It's that time of year again, Awards Season!!! Sunday night kicked it off with the Golden Globe Awards. This is usually the awards show where I love the fashions the most. But this year, I was a little underwhelmed with most everyone. There were a few standouts for me, but I am hoping that the ladies kick it up a notch for the rest of the red carpets!!!

Here are my favorite ladies of the night. . .

Chevron

Happy Monday, Lovelies!! I am sure some of you have the pleasure of being off today!! Well, enjoy it for me! I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. It was a little chilly here and I think I got a little taste of what I am in for in the weeks to come. And it's not pretty! Literally one minute after going outside my eyes are watering so bad from the wind, my face is as red as a stop sign and my fingers are frozen! AHH, why did I want to move here?? Just kidding, that I the price I will have to pay to live in this amazing city! I am sure I will live. . . although not without complaining, that's for sure. I am in the process of "sprucing" up my apartment. I guess you can call it winter weather nesting. But I am itching to give this place a more "home" feel. So I am constantly looking for ideas and decor to add to my list.

It's no secret that I am MAD for patterns! I am contemplating adding a several to my apartment, I love them so much. But, if I had to choose one that I love more than the others, it would have to be a great Chevron print. There is just something clean, classic, and bold about this design, and frankly I can't get enough of it! I am even contemplating painting one of my walls in this pattern. Am I crazy? Do you all love Chevron as much as me?

Gap Fit

One of my new years resolutions is to treat myself better. By that I mean, eat a little healthier, exercise, and put my health and self first. I am back to my healthy eating, and am starting my exercise routine this week. I am going to try out a class called Figure 4. If you haven't heard of it, check it out! It mixes ballet barre work with strength training and cardio. Having danced for over 20 years, this class stood out to me and I am excited to give it a try. Nothing gets you in better shape than ballet barre work! Seriously! There is another class along the same lines called the Barre Method. If they are in your area, definitely try them out.

So you all remember me telling you that when I moved here, I just moved my clothes, and just the clothes I needed immediately and my winter wardrobe. I wasn't even thinking about my workout clothes being something I had to have (sad, I know) So, until my sweet mother can go back to my house and get them for me, I had to go find something to work in the meantime. As great as I have heard Lululemon is, I am just not workout obsessed enough to pay that much for workout clothes. On my lunch break one day I walked past a Gap and noticed they had a sticker on their window promoting their new active wear line "Gap Fit" So I went in and checked it out, and I LOVE IT! I just started out with a couple pair of their leggings, a few tanks and a jacket and couldn't be happier!

LOVE that this has thumb holes, so your sleeves won't ride up!

I cannot wait to try out my class this week. And I know I will be ready with all my new workout gear. If you are in need of some new duds and don't want to spend a fortune, check out this new line!!

Looking forward to getting out and enjoying the great weather and meeting up with some friends. OH, and how can I forget one very important thing happening tonight. The COTTON BOWL, BABY!! My Hogs are taking on Kansas State, and I just know we are going to come out on top! So here's to a Razorback WIN, and some even more fabulous Hog Red fashion

Resolutions, yes or no?

I am so thankful to have today off! With all the traveling I have been doing and a busy past couple of months, I am looking forward to just enjoying a relaxing day off. I plan on doing a little shopping, walking around the city, enjoying great food, and some even better company. I am always torn at the beginning of each year, with this whole resolution thing. I make a list (and its usually a long one) of things I want to accomplish in the new year, or things I want to change. And when I look back at the list at the end of each year, I somehow realize that I was not as goal oriented as i should have been. So should I set my standards lower? Or vow to accomplish them all no matter what? Over the weekend, I decided that I am going to make my list as usual, but this year, I am going to have it up somewhere in my apartment, so that I am always reminded of the things I want to accomplish or do this coming year. Call me cheesy or nerdy, but I think it's healthy to have a set of goals or things you want to accomplish and be able to actively work towards those everyday. I always feel a sense of pride when I can mark something off my list or I accomplish something I or others didn't think was possible (hello, moving to NYC) So whether you believe in the idea or resolutions or not, I have made my list and it is going to be a constant reminder that every day is a blessing and to live life to the fullest. 2012 is going to be a fabulous year for me, lovelies! I can just feel it! Enjoy your day off, and start the year off with a bang! xoxo
