{Perspective}

Today is the last day of April! HOW CAN THIS BE?  I guess time flies when you are having fun, right? If you follow me on instagram, I am sure you have noticed a resurgence of posts.  I gave up all social media for lent and though the first week or so was a bit challenging, I am happy to say I think it was a really good decision.  Sometimes we get so caught up in what others are doing that we forget to do for ourselves and worry about our path and where we want to be/go.  You might start to see some different insta pictures from me, and I hope it doesn't deter you from following.  If anything, over the past six weeks, I have realized that I have to be 100% myself and be OK with putting that out there.  I know I catch myself worrying about losing friends or followers or even having people judge me if I put a certain topic or picture out there. But I have realized that being unapologetically myself has actually made me happier and more driven.

I'm a worrier and someone with a very wild imagination, so much so that I sometimes think up these crazy scenarios with just the smallest bit of information.  I start to think the worst and prepare for that. Taking a social media detox, if you will, allowed me to really think about how I view myself and how that affects others opinion and treatment of me.  And boy are they intertwined!

Nothing changes overnight, and I will probably always worry a bit about certain things, but basing your happiness on someone else or their opinion of you, is the worst thing you can do (trying to take my own advice here!) Happiness is a choice, so make sure you chose it as often as possible. You never know what can happen if you say yes to something you are scared of or are afraid to do. It could lead you on a great adventure and who knows what could happen!  It's scary to not know what lies ahead, but it's also exciting to see where life takes you sometimes. If I had let fear get the best of me, I would never have moved to New York!

I've got a Crush in You

And when you get a look a the color for Spring, you will to!  Radiant Orchid, in all her gorgeous glory, is the color for Spring.  From fashion to interiors, to even beauty, this is the color of the moment.

As Pantone puts it:

'An invitation to innovation, modern and versatile Radiant Orchid encourages creativity and originality. Imbued with a harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and its rosy undertones emanate great joy, love and health.'

There is nothing I love more than when color stands for strong values.  Though as women, we should always feel confident and powerful, using color to portray our moods and feelings is a great way for self expression.  I am usually drawn towards neutrals or bold hues, but am starting to become drawn to these subtle, rich and feminine pastels.  Maybe it's age, but to me, nothing stands out more than classic elegance.  Not shoving something in someones face like 'look at me, look at me.'  Don't get me wrong, there are times when bold and bright are called for, but there is just something warm, calming and satisfying when it comes to soft hues and color palettes

I can feel it coming in the air tonight, Oh Lord

Spring, that is! It's been a while since I have posted anything and I am going to blame the weather!  It's made me unmotivated and just plain annoyed!  But there is a new season upon us and I couldn't be happier about that!

Though we've had some rainy days, the temperatures are getting warmer, the sun is making a daily appearance, and good days are coming, y'all! It's time to shed the winter wardrobe and winter blues (finally!) and look forward to warmer temperatures, vacations, and a new beginnings.  As much as I am a fall/cold weather girl, I really do enjoy Spring and its progression into Summer.

Spring is the perfect time to clean out, or de-clutter, if you will, your life.  You can go crazy and do a complete overhaul, or just start small and do things a little at a time.  If you are a neat freak and organizationally obsessed like me, you clean out things several times a year.  But for the normal person, Spring is not only a time to clean out usual household clutter, it's also time to reevaluate your life, purpose and well-being. It's a fresh start - out with the old, in with the new!

So what are you going to start with first? Closet, taking up new hobbies, weeding out the negative? For me, I'm starting with my closet and purging like crazy only to make room for things I will wear more and have longevity.  I'm also adding new hobbies, a few classes, and taking a really fun trip; which you will all get to hear about over the coming months, so stay tuned! xo

I am looking forward to a fresh new season, with limitless possibilities and room for new and wonderful things.
