TGIF!  Can you believe we only have THREE weeks until Christmas??! What?? I hope you were able to take advantage of some of those great Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals.  If you are one to wait until the last minute to buy gifts or seem to run out of ideas for all those people on your list - Don't fear! Time got away from me too this season, and I totally slacked on all my Gift Guide posts.

Below I have rounded up some of the best Gift Guides I have found over the past few weeks.  I think you all will find these really helpful and useful.  There are lots of great ideas for just about everyone on your list.  xx

For Her

Another blog you need to have on your daily list is Elements of Style Everything you need to  know about design with a little fashion mixed in as well.  Below is her Gift Guide for Mom, Sister, BFF, In-Laws, or any woman on your list.

The Traveler

For that person who is always on the go, The Stripe has a great guide for just about every budget

For Him

For the Little One

For those little fellas and ladies on your list, Lauren Conrad has some great options

Baby it's Cold Outside

Good-Ness! It has been one chilly start to our Thanksgiving week here in DC.  I know this is a sign of what is to come, but whew!  Good thing I kept all my winter gear from when I lived in NYC - all of it will come in quite handy.  I thought DC winters were supposed to be less harsh?

Over the years I have created quite a coat collection.  Living in Arkansas you really didn’t need more than maybe two coats.  One lightweight for rain and 'cool' days and another heavier option in the event it does get below 40 degrees.  A few weeks before I moved to New York I bought a down jacket, snow boots, a few pairs of gloves and earmuffs.  I was ready for winter!  And as luck would have it, that year our winter was one of the mildest on record – go figure.  But not to worry, it made up for it the last three winters and I wore all of them to death!  Believe it or not, you can still look put together wearing lots of layers and a big puffy coat!

Below are a few of my favorite coats.  I have included several price points in the event you don't want to blow your budget on one.  But from experience, I have found that spending a little more on a coat, especially if you are going to be wearing it everyday for several months straight is a great idea.  Stay warm, Lovelies!

Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

Well Hellllooooo (Mrs. Doubtfire voice) It's been a few weeks since I've ventured here to give you all some fashion goodness.  After our trip to Florida for the Wine Festival, I jumped back into work training the person who is going to be taking over my role at the firm.  Not to worry, I am still working there, just in a different capacity.  At first I was a bit uneasy about the change, but over the past several weeks, I have realized it's actually the right move and just what I wanted!  But trying to catch someone up on your job in a week or so is tough!  Especially when it's the busiest time of the year for us.  Oy Vey!! The transition is on the down slide, so I am slowly getting my life back!  Most people know I am a planner and as organized as they come - I have mixed up two appointments this week and gone on the wrong day!  So needless to say I am looking forward to a short week next week and some time off to spend with family.

Speaking of Holiday's.  Thanksgiving is one week away!  How it that possible!!! We decided a few months back we wanted to stay in DC for Thanksgiving.  With all of our traveling this year and always on the go, we wanted to enjoy time off at home.  My parents are coming up for the week and we are heading to my cousins near Baltimore for Thanksgiving day.  The weather here has been unseasonably warm lately so I haven't been able to wear my heavier sweaters, scarves and coats.  I am sure that will happen eventually, but I am ready for it now!!

Below are a few outfit ideas for Thanksgiving.  We are typically low key and not too fancy, but I always like to err on the side of being a little over dressed.  You can't go wrong with any of these outfit options and a good portion of the pieces below you probably have in your closet already.  And if you don't, these are great pieces to add and good items for that Holiday wish list! xx

Good Morning!  As I type this I am sitting in a lovely little beach house in Florida.  The weather today is supposed to be in the 80's, so not sure how I feel about that, but the sun will be shining and the beach will be under my feet.  Can't complain about that.  I'll fill you in next week on what I am doing down here. . . Or you can follow me on Instagram to get a few snapshots of my weekend.  In the meantime, here are my favorite links from this week. Enjoy! xx

** Balmain x H&M collection launched yesterday - here's a peak at the line.  There are some really great looking pieces, only problem is where to find as I am sure most places are close to selling out.

** Time to make those Holiday Wish Lists - Oprah's Favorites Things has some great gift-giving and gift-receiving ideas

** I don't know about y'all but I am still craving all that Halloween candy - Here are a few healthier options to satisfying that sweet tooth

** Did anyone else watch the CMA's Wednesday night?  My favorite performance was Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton  - And if you aren't familiar with Chris Stapleton - he's dominating Country Music right now

** For all those chapstick addicts (myself included) - Here's why you might be applying more frequently that necessary

The Color of the Season

Call it Merlot, Burgundy, Marsala or Maroon - this season the color of the moment is any of these gorgeous dark red hues.  Now, I am all for neutrals and gravitate towards blacks and grays, but this color has been catching my eye for a few seasons now and this fall I finally took the plunge and started adding some pieces to my closet.  I approached this color as a neutral, which I think has really helped me add it to my wardrobe with little to no stress and confusion.  It looks great with gray.  It's a good opposite to pinks of many shades.  Of course black and brown look fabulous with it, and you can't go wrong with burgundy and navy.  To me this is a no brainer to add to your wardrobe as the possibilities are endless.  Plus it's a classic color so you can wear season after season.  Some of my favorite pieces are below.

Happy Friday, Lovelies!! And also Happy Halloween Eve!! I'm sure I am going to get a lot of Boooo's (pun intended) for this, but I am not really a 'Halloween person.'  And by that I mean, I don't get all into it and really care for it. At.All.  Maybe it's my paralyzing fear of clowns and masks, or the nasty fake wigs or people jumping out and scaring me. . . Who knows.  The only thing I actually look forward to in regards to Halloween is - Candy - and most importantly - Candy Corn.  But all that aside, it is really fun to see what crazy costumes people come up with each year.  I'm looking forward to seeing some good ones tomorrow!  In honor of this candy crazed holiday, I thought I would do a Halloween themed Friday Favorites.  Below are some Spooktacular links for you to check out! xx

** this may be a hard sell as not many people like Candy Corn - but if you are wanting a fun and different dessert to bring to a part this weekend - try these

** Erica Domesek is one pretty creative chick.  If you haven't see her video of Halloween costume Pun's you need to see it

** Spooky cocktail recipes to make while watching Hocus Pocus for the one millionth time

** No time for a thought out costume - here are some makeup ideas that are costumes themselves

** If you are up for a weekend full of scary movies - here are a few ideas

Fall Wardrobe Staples

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Well, for me anyway.  Once the temperatures start to linger in the low seventies, high sixties, my mood immediately gets better.  Boots, Scarves and Sweaters are three things I adore and will probably be buried in (along with one of my bags, of course).  I have been trying each season to purchase staples that will work season after season.  Yes, there are always those 'must-have' new or trendy items, which I sometimes do purchase (on the lower price point end, as they are usually a one season wear), but I have found that season after season there are those pieces that you can never go wrong with purchasing.  Below are my fall wardrobe staples, that I reach for more often that not.  They are great when you can't think of anything to wear, and are great pieces to complete a look on the fly.

Another week down! This week was pretty calm and I took full advantage of it!  It's amazing what a little rest and down time can do for you!  I'm hoping for a more productive weekend and getting out to enjoy the weather and fall scenery.  That is one thing I have really missed - the changing of the seasons and being able to see if for yourself!  Here 's to a fabulous weekend! xo

** Thinking of getting away for the Holidays? If that isn't possible, this list of books might be your answer

** I have a love for Cobalt and this gorgeous jacket is calling my name!  AND it's affordable! WIN WIN!

** Being a chapstick lover (addict) - I don't typically wear lipstick or gloss because I had the way most of them feel.  Might have to try a few from this list to see if I can add some spice to my lip regimen

** Having a family member on the Autism Spectrum, this is a great stride in awareness and inclusion - Well done Sesame Street

** Adele is BACK, y'all!  You have to hear her new single

** For all you emoji-loving people out there - a new update was issued Wednesday and we now have 150 new emoji's to play with!  Including a champagne bottle, tacos, a middle finger and a unicorn!  Happy Texting!!

NYFW S/S 16 Recap {Part I}

Good Morning, Lovelies!  A bit behind the eight ball on these posts, but I promised them to you so that is what you are going to get!  Instead of doing a post for each designer during fashion week, (hello 1 million posts) I decided to do a few recaps of the looks I loved from designers over the span of the week.  Call me lazy or genius - I figured it was the best way for both of us to get the most out of Fashion week.

Below are my favorites from the first few days.  I mentioned the designer and a little bit about the trend for Spring in each look for your reference.

Rebecca Taylor - off the shoulder, ruffled/boho trends are still popular for Spring

Sachin & Babi - Florals and sheer pieces are prefect for those Spring weddings.

Tamara Mellon - African inspired prints as well as black and white are perfect mix-ups to typical pastel spring hues

Trina Turk - patterns, cut-outs and a retro vibe are on point for Spring

Marissa Webb - military, neutrals and tailored perfection are exactly what you expect from Marissa and her Spring line is just that mixed with sheer fabrics as well as a bit of romance

Tome - Classic, Black and White looks are still hot for Spring. Mix it up a bit with a dress over straight leg pants and add a belt

Emmy Red Carpet

I had big plans to get this up yesterday, but life just got in the way.  Monday's are always a little crazy and time just slipped away from me.  But better late than never, right?

The Emmy Red Carpet this year was full of color and had a variety of style, which in my opinion, makes it much more enjoyable to watch.  I get really excited to see women and men, for that matter, take risks and go with what they want to wear instead of what is traditional for award shows or the current trends.  With that being said, I have more than a few favorites from Sunday nights carpet and check out my choice for best dressed below.

Ariel Winter in Romona Keveza

Danielle Brooks in Christian Siriano

Emily Robinson in Kayat

Emma Roberts in Jenny Packham

Jaimie Alexander in Armani Prive

January Jones in Ulyana Sergeenko

Jessica Pare in Monse

Jamie Lee Curtis in Stella McCartney

Judith Light in Zac Posen

Regina King in Krikor Jabotian

Sarah Hyland in Zac Posen

Taylor Schilling in Stella McCartney

And my best dressed of the night goes to:

Kerry Washington in Marc Jacobs
