Emmy Red Carpet

I had big plans to get this up yesterday, but life just got in the way.  Monday's are always a little crazy and time just slipped away from me.  But better late than never, right?

The Emmy Red Carpet this year was full of color and had a variety of style, which in my opinion, makes it much more enjoyable to watch.  I get really excited to see women and men, for that matter, take risks and go with what they want to wear instead of what is traditional for award shows or the current trends.  With that being said, I have more than a few favorites from Sunday nights carpet and check out my choice for best dressed below.

Ariel Winter in Romona Keveza

Danielle Brooks in Christian Siriano

Emily Robinson in Kayat

Emma Roberts in Jenny Packham

Jaimie Alexander in Armani Prive

January Jones in Ulyana Sergeenko

Jessica Pare in Monse

Jamie Lee Curtis in Stella McCartney

Judith Light in Zac Posen

Regina King in Krikor Jabotian

Sarah Hyland in Zac Posen

Taylor Schilling in Stella McCartney

And my best dressed of the night goes to:

Kerry Washington in Marc Jacobs

Fall Want List

Good Morning, Lovelies! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  With the great weather we have been having lately, I am jumping in to my fall wardrobe with both feet.  Over the weekend we headed out to our storage unit to get my fall/winter clothes and I couldn't wait to go through all of it and figure out what I needed to get rid of and what I needed to add.

Over the past few months I have noticed a slight change in my style preferences, if you will.  I'm gravitating more towards pieces and looks I haven't really worn much.  I'm interested to see how this pans out; if' it's just a phase of me wanting to try something new, or if my taste is changing with me getting older.  Who knows!

Below are items I have on my ever growing fall want list.  Budget, you say? What budget? All of these are great additions to your wardrobe and can expand how you wear what's already in your closet.  What's on your Fall want list?

Erin Fetherston NYFW SS16

Erin Fetherston is always on my top ten list each fashion week.  Her designs are just breathtaking and feminine and make you want to get dressed up in one of her gorgeous pieces and go somewhere exquisite.  I fall more in love with her every season (if that’s possible).  Her Spring collection was everything you'd expect.  Sheer fabrics, soft pastels, retro florals and a touch of whimsy.  If you are into boho chic with a touch of femininity and romance, this collection has your name ALL over it.  Check out a few of my favorites below.

LC Lauren Conrad Runway Collection

LC or Lauren Conrad as we have come to know her over the past several years, has done some major growing up and is far from her Laguna Beach days.  Wednesday night she debuted her LC Runway collection at New York Fashion Week and as usual, her clothes did not disappoint.  This Runway collection will be available at Kohl’s, along with her LC Lauren Conrad line.

The looks for this collection are in one word; romantic.  Soft pastels, and array of textures, lace and a touch of ethereal femininity.  Think enchanted forest meets vintage-inspired boho chic.  Each look is different but they all go together and all of the pieces from this collection can be mixed and matched.  Which as someone who likes versatility and the best bang for her buck - this collection really caught my eye.  And the icing on the cake?  Every piece of this runway collection is affordable!  You don't have to shell out half month's rent to look fashionable! Well done LC!

Below are my favorite looks from the show.  Check out the rest of the collection here

T-G-I-F! Nothing like a short week to make you feel like the longest one of the year. Why does that happen? Anyway, I'm just happy it's Friday afternoon and I only have a few more hours until the weekend! Chip is currently on his way back from his last work trip EVER! So we are going to do a little celebrating this evening.  I can't tell you what a relief it is for both of us to not have to worry about packing a suitcase and traveling for work anymore.  We can now enjoy being in the same place and doing things together.  Our plans (actually our plans for the rest of the year) consist of watching football most of the weekend.  Hoping to talk him into grabbing brunch Sunday, but we will see. :)

** Unless you have been living under a rock, you are aware that it's NYFW.  I'm sad to miss out this year, but will still be covering a few shows here.

** Getting excited for Fall and craving this Poncho

** Some great ideas for date night on a budget

** My new favorite Cologne. I can't stop wearing it!

** In an effort to try and be more minimalist and pare down what I own, I'm contemplating this challenge.

** Quick and easy exercises to combat all the food I'll consume during football season.

** An oldie but a goodie - article on habits of successful woman

Have a fabulous weekend! xx

NYFW

It's that time of year again! The time when bloggers, models, fashionistas, and hopeful designers all descend on New York City to attend shows, presentations, and upcoming collections from the hottest designers.  Four years ago I attended my first Fashion Week and was able to see first hand what actually goes down at these things.  Some of it utter ridiculousness and some of it truly inspiring.

I would be lying if I didn't admit to having a bit of FOMO this year as invites came in and I had to regretfully decline as I am not able to make the trip up this season.  I am realizing that I really took for granted all that was happening around me.  How I could drop in on a presentation on my lunch break, run to a show after work or grab drinks with some girlfriends while checking out the newest beauty products or jewelry lines.  I was really connected and fortunate to live in New York and this year it's hitting home just how lucky I was to get to experience that for 8 seasons.

I will be watching from DC this week and covering some shows of my favorite designers, so make sure to come back to see what your closet needs come Spring!  You can never be too ahead of the game as far as your closet is concerned!

xx
