SAG Awards Red Carpet

Good Afternoon, Lovelies! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  I thoroughly enjoyed mine and really could have used just one more day! :) It looks like NY is going to get hit with some wicked winter weather (say that three times fast!) tonight and tomorrow.  So I might get a 'work from home' day after all!

Last night was the 21st annual SAG Awards, and again, the red carpet was packed with some no-no's,  but there were several home runs.  In my book, at least!  Below are my favorite looks from the night.

Emma Stone- Dior Haute Couture

Jennifer Aniston - Vintage Galliano

Julianne Moore - Givenchy

Julie Bowen -  Georges Hobeika

Lupita Nyong'o- Elie Saab

Reese Witherspoon- Giorgio Armani

Rosamund Pike - Dior Haute Couture

Golden Globe Red Carpet Favorites

And we are off! It's officially award season and I couldn't be happier!  Unless you were living under a rock or could give two shits about tv, movies or fashion, you know that the Golden Globe Awards were last night.  This is usually my favorite awards show, fashion wise.  It's usually the show that I have the most likes/loves on the red carpet.

This year I was a little underwhelmed by some of the choices, but over all I thought most of the looks were gorgeous! See my favorites below.

Kate Hudson in Versace

Amy Poehler in Stella McCartney

Chrissy Teigen in Zuhair Murad

Emily Blunt in custom Michael Kors

Emma Stone in Lanvin

Jenna Dewan Tatum in Carolina Herrera

Julia Louis-Dreyfus in Narciso Rodriguez

Julianne Moore in Givenchy

Kate Beckinsale in Elie Saab

Lorde in Narciso Rodriguez

Reese Witherspoon in Calvin Klein

Viola Davis in Donna Karan Atelier

Made in the USA - Pietro Alessandro

While I was sick over the weekend, I had a lot of time (A LOT) on my hands.  In between, knitting, watching a Harry Potter marathon, and reading a new book (aren't I just a total catch), I got sucked into the hashtag-ness of Instagram.  I literally went down a rabbit hole, y'all!  If you don't watch yourself, you could be looking for hours! Hours!  As much as I am trying to occupy my time with other, less-techy, hobbies, I do occasionally let myself get lost on there.  You can come across some of the coolest, newest, and inspiring things.

And that I did.  I came across a few new brands that I am a liiiittle obsessed with.  I love finding brands that have a great story or message, made here in the USA and are just plan awesome.  I'm plan to spotlight more brands that are made stateside, and support or local designers!  Today I'm drooling over one handbag company I think you all should get to know.

I know! I know! Of course the first one she comes across is a handbag company! Well that is my weakness, after all!  And I am drawn to well made, quality and of course wallet friendly brands like a moth to a flame!

Pietro Alessandro is family owned a operated and all their bags are made right here in good ole NYC.  And they only use the highest quality materials and leathers from Italy.  With the quality of materials they use, you would think these bags were out of our price range, right? Think again!  They range from $168 - $370!  I'm smitten!! And to tempt you just a little bit more, they are offering 25% off all bags with the code HOLIDAY25. Now how can you pass that up?!

Below are a few of my favorites and I have to admit, I ordered one over the weekend!  I can't help myself!! xo

Reality

I'm sure I'm not the only one experiencing a little back to work depression this morning.  It was so hard to get out of bed and actually have to get ready to go somewhere.  I have had the past two week off and have enjoyed the fact that I didn't have to get dressed if I didn't want to (which was a lot of the time, I'm not going to lie)  I have been a bit under the weather the last few days, so I wasn't able to get out and do all things I wanted to before reality/the real world set back in.  I just need a few more days!! Isn't that what everyone says when they are faced with going back to work or home from vacation?  Even though I'm still not feeling great, and it's freezing here, I'm determined to think positive and have a positive outlook on today and the year ahead.  I just have to get though today and it's all uphill from here, right?

I was looking through my phone last night and found some great pictures from my break and a few 'framers' I'm working on putting up in the apartment and my office.  I thought I'd share a few.  Most of these are in my instagram, but a few I kept for here.

Happy Monday!! xo

My parents tree

So not only do my sister and I look alike, we have the same taste in clothes.  I brought this dress to wear to Christmas Eve Mass, but when I saw Rachel was in the same one, I changed. :)

Our church decorated for Christmas.  It was gorgeous

Liv and I sort of matched with our red and plaid (this was what I actually wore for Christmas Eve)

My 'baby' Benny

Made Gingerbread Cookies with Aiden.  My sister and I used to love doing this when we were his age

My Momma's amazing Christmas Day Brunch

2015

TGIF! The first Friday of the New Year!  I don't know about you guys, but there is just something exciting and enlightening about a new year.  I LOVE IT!  I don't know if it's the allure of not knowing what this year will bring, or if it's the idea of getting another year to get things right or change some of the things you weren't thrilled with the year before.  2014 was a roller coaster year for me.  It was a year I learned a lot about myself and gained a better perspective on a lot of things in my life.  I am excited to take those lessons and make 2015 a year that's one of my best yet.  I have so many things I want to accomplish, see, do and be a part of.  When I  moved to NYC over three years ago, I had the mentality of 'saying yes' to everything (within reason and not illegal of course.)  This year I am taking on that mantra again.  I learned so much about myself, the people I met and this amazing city when I decided to take a chance and go to things or get out and meet people.  You never know who you will meet or what might happen if you give it a try.

So, I'm resolving to Say Yes to opportunities, and making the most out of 2015!  Happy New Year! Cheers!
