A Striped Situation

Good Morning Lovelies! I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. I enjoyed some time with my family, and enjoyed the beautiful weather with a good friend yesterday. I am so glad that summer/warmer weather is here and staying!

Lately I have been drawn to anything with stripes. I am not sure why, but I am obsessed with them. I swear 8 out of 10 things I have bought lately have been stripes. Below are a few of the things I have picked up lately, and some others that I have my eye on. I love how you can dress stripes up or down and can mix and match them with so many things.

Getting off my butt and working out

I'm sure that many of you watched the American Idol Finale last night. I really didn't care who won, I just wanted to see who all the performers were going to be. And it was a great show! Bringing back TLC! Their CD, Crazy, Sexy, Cool was the first CD I bought and literally listened to it so much that it stopped playing! For me, the best part of the night was seeing Carrie Underwood. Most of you who know me, know that she is probably my favorite celeb EVER! To say I am obsessed, is probably spot on.

I have started to get back into my workout regimen since I will have to get into a swimsuit soon. I decided to go back to old trusty; Jillian Michael's 30 day shred. Let me tell y'all, I forgot how bad ass she is. It's only 25 minutes roughly, but you are going nonstop the whole time. My thighs literally almost gave out on me walking down stairs the second day I started back! But she knows what she's doing and it works.

Last night I went to have some dinner/drinks with some girlfriends and ate as healthy as I could considering their menu. You have NO idea how hard it was to pass on the Cheese Fries!! AHHHH! But I did! So I get home and start watching AI, and I see Carrie and Lauren's duet and automatically want to die! Carrie looks AMAZING! I want to look like that!!! I mean, seriously, what do I have to do to have her body???! Anyone?? Please just tell me exactly what she does, because whatever it is, it's working! So starting today, I am going to print this picture off and put in IN my fridge, and wherever else I feel necessary, to remind me of my goal. . . I mean check out the pic below, is that normal?!!!

Mad props to you Carrie!

My Favorite Manicure. . . EVER

Happy Happy Friday Lovelies!! I am so happy it's almost the weekend. I have big plans this weekend. .. I'm gong to clean my house from top to bottom! I know, it's the little things that I get excited about. But what I am really looking forward to is going to dinner tomorrow night with my very best friends to celebrate my 30th Birthday. I don't know what I would do without these girls. They are the epitome of what friends should be, and I couldn't ask for better friends. Love you girls!!!

You all know my slight obsession with nail polish/manicures. Well, over the past year I have been getting Shellac, or gel manicures. It isn't the acrylic or gel that is used with artificial nails. Its literally a gel like polish that you paint on just like regular nail polish. The difference is you put your hands under a "curing light" to harden the gel and you are left with a perfect manicure that needs no drying and it lasts up to 2 weeks. You all know how long most regular polish lasts, especially for me. I am lucky if I get three days out of a regular manicure. So I was thrilled when I found out that my local salon was starting to do the gel manicure. And it has been perfection! I can be as tough as I want to be and not have to worry about chipping or ruining my manicure, and most times it has lasted 10 days!!! I could go longer, but since my nails grow pretty fast, the regrowth is significant and it bothers me.

There are several different brands out that offer the gel manicure, OPI, CND, and Gelish to name a few. I have tried all three of these brands and can honestly say that I love the Gelish and CND the most. They are spot on with the color actually matching the bottle. With the OPI colors, I have found that they are usually lighter than the regular polish.

I would highly recommend trying this out if you are hard on your nails, have brittle nails, or just want a manicure to lasts longer than three days. You will be super pleased with the results.

Have a great weekend! See you all next week! XOXO

Suit Up

I admit it, I haven't bought a new swimsuit in probably 4 years. I know, it's crazy right?! I just haven't really had a reason to. I mean, my solid black two piece has been kind to me for so long, that I just never thought about looking for something else. Well, that has changed this season. I have come across so many cute suits, that I am having a hard time deciding which one I want. Here are a few of my favorites.

Monday Mantra

It's Monday Lovelies! And although I am dragging a little, and would love to be snuggled up in my bed, I am in a really good mood today. I have a feeling this week is going to be a good one. Which isn't something I can say that I usually feel on a Monday. Especially when it's cold and cloudy like this morning. Maybe it's the fact that my birthday is Saturday (I will be 30!, which honestly I am totally fine with), or the fact that I have some great things planned for this summer, and am really looking forward to a couple of vacations with family and friends. Whatever it is, I am not complaining and am going to enjoy every minute of this fabulous mood! I have a few fun posts for this week. I wanted to leave you with a quote I found on Pinterest last week, that for some reason has stuck with me.

On another note, tonight is the season premiere of The Real Housewives of New Jersey!! Yes, I am one of the crazy obsessed people who watch this show like my life depended on it. The NJ Housewives are my favorite by far! I am SO glad that Danielle is gone, and can't wait to see who the new housewives are and what they will be like with the other ladies.

Happy Monday! Have a fabulous day!! XOXO

Spring Shoe Collection

Happy Thursday!! Sorry I have been a little MIA lately. I have had a crazy, hectic couple of weeks. But the skies are getting clearer so to speak, and I should be back to daily blogging soon. I have had a few emails about what shoes I wear on a daily basis or just in general. Especially for Spring/Summer. And I am so glad you all asked, because if there is one thing I love about this time of year, it's the shoes! I have a slight obsession with wedges, I just bought a new pair this week! Below are my staples for this season. Some are new and some I have had for seasons and just can't get enough of them. The weather is finally cooperating and I can wear skirts, shorts, and dresses.

BCBGeneration "Callista" Wedge
These were my new purchase this week. If you remember back on this post, I ordered a pair of black wedges, but had no luck. So I was out at a local department store and spotted these, and am in love! They are actually really comfortable. I wore them all day yesterday and out for dinner with friends, and had no problems. So if you want a fun, comfy pair of black wedges, go get these!!

Jessica Simpson "Dany"
I bought these in black too. I have worn the black several times, and let me tell you, they are high. But I have gotten so many compliments on them. What I love most about them is that I can wear them now and then in the fall with tights or leggings.

Cynthia Vincent for Target Wedges
These shoes are no longer available but there are some similar styles out there. These were probably one of the best purchases I have made, shoe wise. I have literally worn these babies to death. they are super comfy, go with everything, and they were only $40!

Dolce Vita for Target Rope Wedge
I have needed a neutral wedge forever, and came across these back in March. I have a feeling they are going to be as popular with me as the Cynthia Vincent wedge. They do run big, I am usually an 8, 7.5 on a good day, and I had to get a 7 in these.

These are a few that I have come across that I think would be great options too!

Until next time Lovelies! XOXO
