SUGARFIX by BaubleBar

Surprise post today!  I couldn't let this little jewel (no pun intended) go left unannounced.  There is a new reason to have a terrific Tuesday! xo

Unless you have been hiding under a rock, you have heard of a little jewelry line called BaubleBar.  They bring high fashion jewelry to the masses for budget friendly prices.

Well today, things got a whole lost sweeter.  They launched their even more budget friendly line of jewelry for Target; Sugarfix.  And just like all their other pieces, these do not disappoint.  Below are some of my favorites.  You can check out their whole line here

{mule-ing around}

Welcome back!  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Chip and I went to a wine tasting Friday, took it easy Saturday and ran a few errands yesterday.  The weather was sunny but a little chilly for my liking, but I will take it over snow and clouds any day!  I have some fun posts on the horizon this week so I hope you'll stick around!

Today's post is all about the new or should I say new again trend; the mule and slide.  For someone who used to wear shoes that were 3.5 inches and higher, I have certainly changed my style preference over the years.  And I think it started when I moved to NYC.  Before that, I was driving everywhere and could wear un-walkable shoes as often as I wanted.  When I moved to New York, things were very different.  If you wanted to get anywhere efficiently, you either took the subway or you walked.  And neither are heel friendly.  You got in the habit of storing your heels in your desk drawer to change in to when you arrived at the office.

Needless to say, my preference started to shift in my shoe preference.  I was leaning more towards wedges, flats or heels that were 2 inches or lower.  Maybe it's me getting older and preferring comfort and practicality over fashion (dare I say that as a fashion degree holder and lover of all things fashion related) But my life has changed a bit and I don't have the need for heels as much as I did before. Now, that doesn't mean I don't pull out a high heel or two every now and then, but for my everyday or go to shoe, I'm choosing ones that are easy living.

I am loving the mule and slide trend going on right now.  I wore mules when I was in Junior High and High school, so I am glad to see the trend return as they were one of my favorite styles.  But the slide is slowly becoming a closet favorite.  I ordered these and LOVE them.  I just love being able to slide into a pair of shoes and go.  My days are spent trying to balance several spinning plates at once, so I can just slip these on and go do what needs to be done and not have to worry about lacing, tying or buckling.  Life Hack 100%

Below are some of my favorite mule and slide options that I think would be great additions to your wardrobe.  Not only are they practical and functional, they are stylish too! The prefect trifecta!  xx

Happy Happy Fri-YAY! Whew this week has seemed long and a bit heavy.  Can't we all just get along!?  Goodness!  The weather here is a bit chilly for Florida, so i'll be pulling out some sweaters and boots for the weekend.  With no real plans on the horizon, I'm looking forward to just being spontaneous and enjoying the time off.

I have a few links to share this week.  Enjoy and I'll see you back here bright and early Monday! xx

** Kendra Scott launched her spring line yesterday and it's just as amazing you would expect.  There are so many pieces I'm dying to add to my collection.  I think these earrings are at the top of my list.  But I also love this ring and this necklace

** I am trying to read more, so I recently downloaded Present over Perfect to my iPad.  I have heard it's a good read, so I can't wait to get started!  If you've read it I'd love to know your thoughts!

** Always finding an excuse to not go to the gym?  Or refuse to pay their ridiculous membership fees?  Here are 5 ways you can workout outside of the gym.  I like #2 personally.  No more excuses!

**The Oscar Nominations were announced this week.  Who's ready for another red carpet and some fabulous fashion?  Oh and of course honoring those individuals and movies who rocked 2016.  Anyone have their picks ready? Tune in February 26th to see who wins!

New Year | New Goals

Happy Monday, lovelies!  I don't know about you guys, but I really enjoyed the weekend! We were just busy enough and also able to relax and get some much needed sleep!  It's amazing how much better I feel after a good nights sleep!  This week is going to be a busy one, so I tried to get ahead yesterday with a few to do's so that I don't completely burn out.  I swear some weeks there just aren't enough hours in the day to get all the things I need and want to get done accomplished! I guess I may need to wake up earlier or stay up later! Something has to give!

I know this post may seem a bit misplaced as we are going into the last weekend of January, but I really wanted to be thoughtful in writing this post, and not just throw it out there to have something on paper/the internet.  Over the holiday break, I spent a lot of time with family and tried to disconnect from work and my to do list and just enjoy the time we had with them.  This is usually the time of year that I start to reevaluate how I have been going about my life.  In the sense of; did I accomplish the things I wanted to do, did I have any regrets, are there things I didn't get to do that I want to try to do next year, etc . . . With how much Chip and I packed into 2016, there was a lot that I feel we were blessed to do and had good things happen in our lives.  Not much room for regret.  I will cherish 2016 for the rest of my life.

Now that we are in 2017, I want to make it a memorable year too!  I have so many ideas, ambitions and goals that I sort of don't know where to start! I decided years ago that making resolutions just doesn't work for me.  I'm really bad with holding myself accountable to a dozen little rituals.  I find that setting several goals or ambitions each year is much more attainable for me and WAY less stressful.  I don't look at it as being lazy or not motivated (believe me, when I set my mind to something, I will do it), I look at it as being thoughtful and practical about what I can accomplish given my current status.  So although I want to read a new book a month; with a full time job, a part time job and this blog, that is probably not going to happen.  So having a goal of trying to read more is better positioned to allow me to read without the pressure to finish a book a month.  It then becomes a chore and you don't enjoy it as much.

I created a few goals for myself this year and most pertain to myself and this blog.  I find that taking care of yourself first and foremost will make you happier and better able to help others.  And this blog has had to take a backseat to career moves, life changes and new cities.  I'm so excited to have a little more free time now to devote more to this site.  I have a lot on the horizon that I can't wait to share.  Here's to a wonderful 2017! xx

1.  Spend more time outside and try to relax/unplug
2. Be present with my Husband, Family and Friends
3. Eat healthy and workout when possible, but don't stress myself out over it
4. If it doesn't make me happy or serve a purpose, don't do it/get rid of it
5. Write for my pleasure and enjoyment
6. Have more patience
7. Always try my best at everything
8. Laugh more often

T G I Favorites

Hello! And Happy Friday! Another week in the books!  Although it was a short week, it was still jammed packed with things to do.  I swear I never seem to be able to catch up. . . on anything.  I am looking forward to this weekend.  We are supposed to have some rain, so that may keep me inside and able to get some things done. (fingers crossed) Regardless, I have lots of posts to prepare for and fun things ahead, so rain or shine, I will be enjoying it either way.

As I work to get back to blogging regularly and build up my network, I am constantly thinking of new things to talk about, different ideas for posts and just what I might want to read from someones point of view.  I am always pinning, bookmarking and dogearing articles or pieces that I want to come back to or that are important or resonate with me.

And in doing so, I thought, I may not be the only one who might find these things useful, entertaining, covet worthy or necessary.  So with that came the idea of a weekly blog post to round up, if you will, all those fun little pieces I come across and want to revisit/share.

Below are some of my tags from this week.  Anything you guys came across that I missed and should check out?

Have a wonderful weekend!

**Love my slow cooker - these are great ideas for weekly meals.  There is minimal prep and you come home to a cooked meal! E-A-S-Y!

**Want to pick up a new hobby this year? Why not try knitting? You can make a scarf to use during these cold months! There is just something so satisfying about making your own clothes!

**Easy Yoga moves to do when you need to power through the work day.

**With all the warm weather we are having, I'm starting to look for spring/summer pieces to add to my wardrobe.  I picked up this swimsuit yesterday. LOVE the color and fit and the price is great! I also grabbed this style too and its under $60!

**Is getting organized on your list of goals for 2017?  Here's a great article to help get you started.

{our wedding video}

Happy Wednesday, Lovelies!  I hope this week has been a good one so far!  I had Monday off from my 'real' job, so I spent the day working on a few updates to the rental property I manage and working on a few things for SbF.  There are some fun things ahead and a new look on the way as well!  I can't wait for it all to come together!  I decided to do one more Wedding post because I loved our video so much and wanted to be able to share it with those who were there and those who weren't.  Joanna and her husband did a phenomenal job.  If you are in Northwest Florida and need a videographer, Sixpence Productions is the BEST!  They were so good, I didn't realize they were there!  That's when you know they are pro's, when you can enjoy your day and not feel like you're being recorded or followed.  I just cannot say enough good things about them!

Below is the link to the teaser I had on Facebook a few weeks ago, the feature film of our whole day, and the entire ceremony film.  We could not be happier with how it turned out and I hope you enjoy it too!

Have a fabulous day and I'll see you Friday for a fun new post! xx

{our wedding photos}

Happy Hump Day!  We're halfway to the weekend, yay!  I hate to say it, since most everyone else in the country is freezing, but this week, so far, has been really nice.  We had a cold start to the week, but today and the rest of the week/weekend are going to be in the 70's and sunny! Looking forward to getting out this weekend and enjoying it more!

Since I was a bad blogger and NEVER covered my wedding (sorry, we moved and work got nuts and we were traveling like crazy) like I said I would, I thought I would do a recap of our day here.  So you won't get to see the build up, but you can at least see the finished product.  I can not say enough about the vendors we worked with, our wedding planner and our families.  It was the weekend of a lifetime and I am so excited that we now live just 20 minutes away from where we said I do.  We can take a drive over as often as we want to relive that day.  Our photographer was AMAZING and sent us over 800 photos from the day!!! I won't inundate you with all of them, but below are some of my favorites.  I tried to also tell the story of our day, if that makes sense.  I've listed all our vendors below the photos in case someone you know is looking to get married down here.  I literally have nothing bad to say about any of them.  They were all a dream to work with while going through the process.  I hope you enjoy this little peek into our wedding day. xx
